We all live our lives inside the story of America. There are a lot of smaller stories inside of that big story. That big story of freedom granted by our creator.
Over the last several years the story has begun to change. As the new story begins to develop its plot-line and its characters we see that just like in most story lines there are two sides of the coin. In our original story one side of the coin said freedom and the other side said personal responsibility. Personal responsibility not only for yourself but for your neighbor. You see you are supposed to love your neighbor as yourself. Now in the new story you are supposed to let someone else love your neighbor for you. We all collectively decide how to spend the sweat and toil of another. This coin has two sides too. One side says that government is good and it can be trusted to make every compassionate decision and we let this government arbitrate morality for us in what it calls political correctness. The other side of the coin says that this political correctness is a false logic that holds together a coalition of deluded followers in a suicide pact with false guarantees and twisted words that used to be called lies.
And now we find these two small men and we wonder where they might fit into the stories we find in our lives. In the story where there was a bully we see these two over at the side holding coats, just like Paul held the coats of the men who stoned Stephen. In another story, the story where the mob is dominating the scene they are the police who know but are silent. In the mystery story they are the witnesses who saw what happened but did not come forward. In the story of the city these two are the people who saw the mugging and walked on by while it happened. In all of these stories, small men stood by believing that they were not the evil. They also believed that they were too small, not strong enough to make a difference. They did not realize that they could have called upon the mighty God who wrote the laws of morality and gives strength to His purpose. These small men, always seeking significance but always falling short because fate never put them in a circumstance where they were strong. If only. If only they had known that they were strong enough to win the good and that all of their hurt was a small consequence.
Here we are, in a big story, standing behind small men. Small men who said the right thing to convince us that they were the ones to lead, they had served their time.
I would never claim the torment of Job but perhaps the lesson he learned is appropriate. The lesson that there is a story bigger than that of America, the story of grace. A story that says everything works for the good of those who believe. So we ask, where is the good here? One good thing is the lesson. The lesson we have learned that these two men and others are not ready to lead and should stand aside. In my opinion they should be removed from their position of power and recalled from office as soon as possible. We do not need short sighted, self serving, closet liberals who believe that after a symbolic vote we must surrender our principals and our freedom. Time for new leadership that carries the old story.
So here we find ourselves in the story. Time to look at ourselves to see what we are made of and where we fit into the story of America and in the story of freedom through grace. Will we too stand by while the United States slips into bankruptcy and ruin. Will we say the words that need to be said. Will we do what needs to be done regardless of the consequence. There are still legal remedies. Are we ready to make sure that the story of freedom stays alive.

Gird Your Loins
Is there anybody else or is it just me. When I see these auto industry leaders begging in front of Nancy Pelosi it just makes me sick. Deep inside they must be thinking: What a ditz or plan, Ill give you a plan!
Wouldnt it be great if they would decide that they don't need to go back to congress to fix the auto industry. If they need to go bankrupt or be sold to new union free ownership so be it. They should tell congress that they are going to sell cars to the rest of the world where they are making a profit and when congress reduces regulations they may come back into these markets.
Similarly, Americans everywhere need to realize that they are becoming less free and the future will be less secure with every dime of stimulus and new spending that passes by these smarmy agents of socialism.
This bunch headed by our new president are setting themselves up to be the worst in the history of our nation. Whether you agree or not with actions taken by liberals during the depression at least we know that the country wasn't saddled with trillions in unfunded liabilities back then. This new spending on top of our already hopeless indebtidness can ruin us.
The answer is of course immediate and drastic tax cuts with a conservative movement that is finally ready to take on the media to its face. Conservatives need to draw a line somewhere and communicate to the people the proper role of government in a world where most people have decided that a social security and a medicare system that are headed for bankrupsey are a good thing. Conservatives have only one strategy that will work. Putting up ownership up against benefits is a winning game plan. Give the people direct ownership of the royalties as we drill on federal lands and in federal waters. Give the poeple the money to manage their benefits as they see fit.

Help Me I'm Getting Old
When I was growing up everybody knew that the country was spending too much money. Politicians would talk about the deficit and people understood because there weren't fifteen credit cards in your wallet to take up the slack when you went to buy the latest technology. How about a one hundred dollar calculator for instance. We learned in school that America was rich and smart. We were exporting more than we were importing, the country was growing, there were reasons to feel secure.
Over time the snowball kept growing. The country went the wrong way with Jimmy Carter. Things were bad and everybody knew it. Then came Reagan, we had learned our lesson. Lower taxes combined with smaller government and less regulation would spur the economy. Then came Bush 1 and 2, the anti-communicators. With the Bushes the message became confused. Yea, lowering taxes was a good thing but when you really got into trouble you raised taxes and when free enterprise really got into trouble you resorted to drunken spending. When these strategies didnt work this became the conservative message. That message, conservatives are just like liberals except that they only care about big business and not the little guy.
We are all together in a wind up car speeding toward the precipice and the Democrats and the Republicans are winding the key tighter and tighter. We are hurtling toward the abyss faster and faster and I am getting older and older. There is only one thing that can save and that message is missing from the elected Republican leadership.
What is clear is that the direction of the country is WRONG WRONG WRONG. The feeling that all will be alright is gone. The sound coming from the people needs to be the loudest thing these politicians hear. Our message to Washington: Government does not have any resources of its own to provide bailouts, or security, or morality. We must get the government out of our lives before we no longer have the right to own property or to speak our minds. The time is short.

Who Is Going To Say It? This Will Not Work!
With the election over conservatives will no longer be screaming at their televisions exhorting John McCain to make clear conservative arguments against big government solutions that don't work and have never worked and will not insure our future.
Even though Republicans are not a good representation of conservatism, they evoke our name often enough that they ought to at least get it right.
The drum beat over the next four years should be.
1. Liberal policies caused this.
2. Liberal policies have never worked to solve problems like these. Give examples.
3. These specific liberal policies will not work and here is what will work.
4. What will work? Dramatically lower taxes and less regulation. In short ownership not benefits. Freedom not indebtedness.
The American Dream is not ownership of a home or the privilege of a job with benefits until Medicare runs out of money. The American Dream is that the people own the government thereby keeping themselves free to own whatever they want to.
Freedom above all else.

Dont Bailout The Auto Industry
Who here really thinks that Washington has not been a major cause of the bankruptcy of the auto industry because off fuel standards, taxes and other constraints they have imposed. This bailout is on the table and urgent because union benefits are at stake. Democrats will use and are using the Obama mandate to try to revitalize unions in our country.
The real solution is to slash taxes on this industry along with employee benefits while relaxing environmental standards. Some of this is being sold as retooling but what if we didn't retool and said we did. It will not help us to have Detroit build small unsafe cars that nobody wants or needs. Ultimately they will be back with their hand out again and in the meantime America hurtles toward bankruptcy herself. Americans need to realize that Social Security IOU's and Medicare liabilities by themselves are choking off our future. Our government is a mass of unfunded liabilities and on the day our government can not meet its obligations without printing the money the American dream will be lost. Politicians believe that they are there to solve problems but in reality they can only provide a framework for others to solve those problems. The goal here is freedom but spending our money wastefully only creates a government that will be knocking on our door one day.

I am running for President of The United States
What the heck. I am the only person in the world who is right on all of the issues and I am so darned likable. What you are about to read requires thought and reflection. You have not heard these ideas before. After you think about it for awhile you will see that I am right.
Here is my campaign platform in a nutshell:
1. As President I will promote ownership over benefits where possible. I would put it to you that Americans own the mineral rights to federal lands where there are energy resources. I would even say that Americans own the very wind that blows through the energy producing wind turbans that are beginning to populate our world. If the people of America were paid a royalty directly to themselves instead of to the government they would be voting for an extra source of income for themselves instead of a government handout that is here today and gone tomorrow. These resources may even be exported. Now I know that Americans will not get rich on these monies (unless they are saved and invested wisely over a number of years) but it will be a start. We will be drilling for energy to make ourselves free and independent from foreign influence with the backing of the majority of Americans. States should provide their residents the same benefits when resources are used from state owned lands. As far as benefit programs go we should try to see where we could just send the people the money and let them contract with private enterprise to administer the benefits that are necessary. Now you may think that unwise but the genius is that these people will begin to vote for conservatives instead of for liberals.
2. College - online - provided by private enterprise - you pay for the testing -
SHOULD BE FREE!
How much better it would be for a business to hire a self starter who worked his or her way through this online educational system, learning practical skills in a practical way from the best teachers and teaching techniques currently known to exist. Education should be revamped to prepare our young people to be prosperous in the twenty first century while promoting self reliance and non redundancy Students should not have to repeatedly learn the same things over and over again. Now this would not be the right thing for everybody but it would be great for those who feel like they missed their chance and for those to whom that type of education might best be suited. The educational system seems to be the last refuge of those who resist technology and innovative thinking. Just think, we could get the best teachers and give everybody the same chance to learn. American values chould be taught all over the world. It is time.
As for the public school system, when George Bush proposed that we accomplish good works in this county by taking money directly from the government and giving it to religious charities he provided a model for what we should do with education. We could allow the public school system to be a private school system by creating an organizational structure separating the school from the government. The school system would be insulated from the government so that local schools could pray or teach art and music (instead of teaching to a test). They could attract students from anywhere they wanted so schools would be competing against each other. Give control of the schools back to the people.
3. Taxes. We need to build some models within our system of 50 states to illustrate to people what works. A flat tax, a fair tax, a progressive tax, an income tax, and so on. If people could see the results it might actually sway them to make the changes we need to make. It is hard to convince people to make major changes when the results are unknown. The actual implementation of test systems would open the door for a change.
These solutions would promote freedom and excellence in our America. Why not?
Remember our politics are Nacho Politics.
